1. Surface material: the stiffness of the label is the key to the standard, so it requires a certain strength and hardness of the surface material. The rigidity of the label is related to the thickness of the material and the area of the label. Therefore, when using soft film materials, the thickness should be appropriately increased, which is generally controlled above 100 μ M.

Thin paper materials, such as 60-70g / m2 label paper, are generally not suitable for large labels, but suitable for processing into small labels, such as price tags used on price guns. The poor rigidity of the label will lead to the label not out of the label, or the label rewind with the backing paper, which will make the automatic labeling invalid.

2. Release force: also known as stripping force, is the force when the label is separated from the backing paper. The release force is related to the type and thickness of the adhesive and the silicon coating on the surface of the backing paper, as well as the ambient temperature when labeling. If the release force is too small, it is easy for the label to fall off (off the base paper) in the conveying process; if the release force is too large, it is difficult for the label to break away from the base paper and cannot be marked. The technical indexes should be controlled comprehensively to make the parting force in a reasonable range.

3. Backing paper: it is also an important indicator to control automatic labeling. It is required that the surface of backing paper should be evenly coated with silicon, and the release force should be consistent; the thickness should be uniform, with good tensile strength to ensure that the label will not be broken; the thickness should be uniform and have good light transmittance to ensure that the sensor can correctly identify the label position.

4. Processing quality: it is required that both sides of the base paper should be flat and without break after slitting, so as to avoid the breakage of the backing paper when the tension changes. During die cutting, it is necessary to avoid cutting through the backing paper or damaging the silicon coating layer. If the base paper and the silicon coating layer are damaged, it is easy to break the backing paper or the adhesive in the label will penetrate into the backing paper, resulting in the phenomenon of no marking and tearing the bottom paper. In addition, before labeling, the static electricity in the web label should be eliminated, because static electricity will cause no label or inaccurate labeling.
